畢比特的粉絲等候已久，繼《生命樹》和《魔球》後，終於有畢比特的電影！從翻譯戲名字面看來，大家會想像是一套子彈滿場飛的動作片。再看清楚故事簡介，就會覺得是黑幫仇殺片。電影背景其實是2008年美國總統大選，當電視整天都播著奧巴馬的演講，由畢比特飾演的殺手Jackie Cogan 就幫黑幫清理門戶，靜靜地進行他的血腥暴力。以下是他完事後跟黑幫代表司機Driver 收費時的對白，我認為是全片的主旨精髓：（未看電影但又打算看的，就不要讀下去。因為知道了結果才再看電影的感覺，不是每一個人都喜歡。）

equal’, words he clearly didn’t believe since he allowed his own children to
live in slavery. He’s a rich wine snob who’s sick of paying taxes to the Brits.
So, yeah, he writes some lovely words and aroused the rabble and they went and
died for those words while he sat back and drank his wine and f*cked his salve
girl. This guy wants to tell me we’re living in a community? Don’t make me
laugh. I’m living in America, and in America you’re on your own. America’s not
a country. It’s a business. Now f*cking pay me.

面對經濟蕭條，經濟轉差，連黑幫的生意都大受影響，身為黑幫僱用的殺手Jackie Cogan 都被逼打折收費。因為正如Brad Pitt所講，美國不是一個國家，是一盤生意，最後的大贏家始終是黑幫大老闆，根本不用自己出面，由司機做代言，永遠在幕後。這些黑幫幕後主謀好比現實世界2008年華爾街那些大鱷，就算經濟倒下來，他們都能穩袋花紅，全身而退。諷刺的是，電影中很多段落，一邊奪命無聲地殺人如麻，一邊又以奧巴馬‘重申美國夢’的演說做背景，奧巴馬的魅力加上那有說服力的演講，威力比Thomas Jefferson寫的Declaration
of Independence更激勵人心。

試問有多少人被如此美麗的言語煽動，奮不顧身地為這‘美國夢’而犧牲？記得中學時讀過的諾貝爾得獎作家John Steinbeck的’Of Mice and
Men’，講述1930年經濟大蕭條時，追求美國夢碎的兩個主角的可憐下場，及比較現代版Arthur Miller 1949寫的’Death of a
Salesman’的悲慘結局，總令人覺得‘只可惜生活是一堆挫折，只可惜生命是一聲抱歉’，百般無奈。

又有多少人能‘重申美國夢’？《奪命無聲》令我記起另一套美國電影《尋找快樂的故事》，’The Pursuit of Happyness’。這是一個真人真事的故事，由Will Smith主演，主角Christopher
Gardner於八十年代生意失敗，破產一無所有，妻子離異，他和兒子流落街頭。故事講述他同一時間參加為期六個月，沒有收入的股票經紀訓練，跟十九人爭奪一個工作崗位，他說：

不過，這故事是美國夢的成功例子，因為Christopher Gardner脫穎而出，成為股票經紀。八十年代經濟起飛，機會還是有的，那個“尋找快樂”不止於“尋找”，還是可以“得到”快樂。今天2012年，美國夢還存在嗎？在畢比特的《奪命無聲》可以找到答案。
